Downtown New Brunswick (DNB) serves as the united voice of the 23 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) across the province. As a membership-driven organization, our mission is to empower BIAs with the tools, strategies, and best practices needed to create the most prosperous downtowns possible.

contribute over 1.5 billion dollars to the tax base.
Since the establishment of the Business Improvement Areas Act in the 1980s, BIAs have been able to self-impose levies to fund their goals and objectives. This has been crucial in keeping our downtowns vibrant and relevant within their communities.
Downtowns are the heart of New Brunswick’s communities, driving culture, tourism, and economic growth.
They preserve heritage, foster civic pride, support local businesses, and create vibrant public spaces. Strong downtowns attract talent, investment, and visitors—building thriving, diverse communities.
